Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure that fire detection systems operate flawlessly, providing safety and peace of mind for clients and their properties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge fire alarm technology, collaborate with construction and service teams, and contribute to life safety initiatives. A strong foundation in electrical systems, system design, and low-voltage wiring is essential to succeed in this energetic role.

Responsibilities

Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and system design specifications using hand tools and power tools.
Conduct routine inspections of fire alarm panels, sensors, and associated components to ensure optimal operation.
Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, CAD drawings, and electrical blueprints for system installation and troubleshooting.
Perform system testing, calibration, and troubleshooting on fire alarm devices such as sensors, control panels, and annunciators.
Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems with other building systems like fire sprinklers and mechanical infrastructure.
Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and system documentation in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
Provide field service support by diagnosing electrical issues related to low voltage wiring or sensors and implementing effective solutions promptly.
Assist in sales activities related to fire alarm systems by providing technical expertise during client consultations or system upgrades.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or service technician with a solid understanding of fire alarm systems, sensors, schematics, and low-voltage wiring.
Strong electrical experience including knowledge of NEC standards applicable to fire alarm installations.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and system design documents accurately.
Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc.
Familiarity with construction inspection processes and working alongside construction teams during project phases.
Knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting or mechanical systems is a plus but not required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently on-site.
