Full Job Description

A Michigan-based law firm is seeking a California-licensed attorney with significant California state and federal court litigation experience for a contract engagement on a completely remote basis. The attorney will work as part of a litigation team while being capable of handling assignments with minimal supervision. Experience managing all aspects of civil litigation case workup, including written discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation, is required. The firm is particularly interested in attorneys with experience in federal court who can assist with a matter pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California involving issues at the intersection of land use and constitutional law. The engagement is expected to last approximately six months. The workload is anticipated to be approximately 10–15 hours per week initially, increasing to 30–40 hours per week from mid-September through October in connection with trial preparation, trial, and post-trial activities.

Minimum Qualifications of the California Licensed Litigation Attorney (Remote):

6+ years of legal experience in litigation
Excellent communication skills
Capability and experience to work independently and with a team
Licensed in California
Excellent academic credentials
Outstanding references

Position Details of the California Licensed Litigation Attorney (Remote):

Type of role: Engagement
Schedule: Part-time (increasing to full-time to assist with trial)
Location: Remote (anywhere in United States but must be California licensed)

Compensation

The annualized compensation for this position ranges from $235,000 to $280,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay is based on numerous factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials and location. In addition to salary, Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401k plan. Benefits-eligible Latitude employees receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D and professional liability insurance. Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
