Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and legal support to our criminal defense and personal injury practice. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth legal operations, efficient case management, and accurate document handling. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.

Duties

Manage legal documents with our management systems, ensuring proper filing, indexing, and retrieval.
E-filing documents with the courts.
Draft, proofread, and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
Conduct thorough document review and data entry to maintain accurate case files and records.
Support litigation processes by organizing case materials, preparing exhibits, and coordinating discovery efforts.
Perform legal administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings.
Conduct client interviews and assist with client communication to gather relevant information for various practice areas.
Support project management initiatives related to legal cases or firm-wide initiatives to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to firm policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Legal administrative experience is required.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail.
Effective interviewing skills for client intake and information gathering processes.
Familiarity with project management principles within a law office setting.
Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and phone etiquette.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
This position is paid in accordance with industry standards for legal support roles and offers an engaging environment where your skills will grow while making a meaningful impact on clients’ lives through dedicated legal assistance. Negotiable with pay for the right person with experience.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
