As an Art Specialist, you will:
- Oversee all activities in the Ceramics Studio, Woodshop, Multi-craft rooms, Art Colony, Sewing Room.
- Teach a variety of classes to the Independent Living, Independent Living Plus, Assisted Living residents, and Long-Term Care residents outside of the Ceramics Studio.
- Conduct weekly safety inspections of all areas of responsibility.
- Plan field trips with residents to a facility/fair as requested by residents to purchase supplies as needed.

Specialized Experience for the GS-07: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service

- Planning, supervising, administering, or carrying out an educational, recreational, cultural, or other art program such as art festivals, competitions, or workshops; AND
- Performing as an artist; OR
- Demonstrating the methods and techniques of one or more art forms such as graphics, sculpture, pottery and ceramics, or metalwork and jewelry.

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
1 academic year of graduate education with a major study in the fine or applied arts (18 semesters or 27 quarters)
OR
Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement with a major study of the fine or applied arts
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired.
