Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced (2-5 years), dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our eye care team. As we expand our market reach as a practice, our volume has increased rapidly and we need your help! If you're a go-getter, have a GREAT positive and teachable attitude, we want to hear from you today! You will be responsible for assisting the patients and the doctors by performing complete eye examinations, taking medical history, preliminary testing, while providing excellent customer service to our awesome patients! Spanish speaker strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for eye examinations by taking comprehensive medical histories and explaining procedures clearly.
Consistantly provide accurate documentation.
Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, EOM, CT, pupil function, VF, AR, and refraction procedures.
Assist ophthalmologist during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring aseptic technique is strictly followed.
Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Nextech or other EMR platforms.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Manage front desk responsibilities including patient intake, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information.
Support retail sales of optical products by providing knowledgeable guidance on eyewear options while applying retail math principles.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
Opportunity to increase your experience by working in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Demonstrate proficiency in ophthalmology-specific skills such as anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and medical terminology relevant to eye care.

Qualifications

Certification as an ophthalmic technician or completion of relevant training programs is preferred but not mandatory. Join our team to provide exceptional eye care services that improve vision health while fostering a welcoming environment for all patients!

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
