The Internal Operations and Compliance Auditor is a cross-property oversight role responsible for independently reviewing hotel compliance with brand standards, Ignite Hotels procedures, PMS requirements, operational controls, and assigned corrective-action plans. This role conducts remote and on-site audits, documents findings, establishes completion timelines, monitors follow-through, and verifies that deficiencies are fully corrected. The position works closely with hotel and Company leadership while maintaining the independence needed to identify recurring failures, escalate noncompliance, and support consistent operational performance across the portfolio.
Based in Richland, WA with frequent travel. Remote option available for the right candidate.
Maintain and execute the Company audit calendar for self-QA reviews, brand QA follow-up, PMS audits, internal operational audits, and other assigned compliance reviews.
Confirm that each hotel completes required self-QA inspections accurately, thoroughly, and within established deadlines.
Review self-QA submissions for completeness, supporting photographs, documentation, accuracy, and consistency with actual property conditions and prior brand findings.
Review brand Quality Assurance reports and ensure each deficiency is documented, assigned to a responsible person, given a required completion date, and tracked through verified closure.
Complete or validate PMS audits involving no-shows, late cancellations, deposit ledgers, open and closed folios, house accounts, accounts receivable, credit-card authorizations, rate overrides, complimentary rooms, adjustments, cash handling, inventory controls, and required supporting documentation.
Conduct scheduled and unannounced internal operational audits of Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food and Beverage, safety, guest service, training, labor controls, employee documentation, and other hotel operating requirements.
Review project software usage to confirm tasks contain clear descriptions, responsible owners, realistic due dates, current updates, specific next steps, supporting documentation, and evidence of completion.
Review system tracking usage for work orders, room inspections, preventive maintenance, out-of-order rooms, department inspections, aging items, repeat deficiencies, and follow-up completion.
Create clear written findings that identify the deficiency, applicable standard, operational or financial risk, required correction, responsible person, completion date, and evidence required for closure.
Establish correction timelines based on the severity of the finding, including immediate response for safety concerns and shorter deadlines for guest, financial, brand, or compliance risks.
Provide timely follow-up with General Managers and responsible department leaders before and on assigned due dates.
Escalate lack of response, missed deadlines, incomplete corrective plans, repeated deficiencies, inaccurate reporting, or unsupported task closures to the assigned Area Operations Manager.
Escalate continued noncompliance, serious operational risk, potential brand failure, financial exposure, safety concerns, or leadership refusal to the VP of Operations.
Verify completion through appropriate evidence, including photographs, PMS reports, receipts, invoices, training records, inspection forms, screenshots, tracking records, project system documentation, or on-site reinspection.
Reopen or reject items marked complete when documentation is missing, the corrective action does not address the original finding, or the condition cannot be independently verified.
Prepare recurring hotel compliance scorecards and portfolio reports showing completed audits, open findings, overdue items, repeated deficiencies, system usage, escalation status, and overall risk level.
Identify trends across hotels and recommend focused training, Task Force support, additional inspections, process changes, or corrective action when repeated failures are identified.
Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential audit records and communicate findings in a factual, consistent, professional, and solution-focused manner.
Travel between properties and provide schedule flexibility for on-site audits, verification visits, brand preparation, and other compliance needs.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Ignite Hotels operations, accountability, compliance, and guest experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, email systems, hotel PMS platforms, reporting systems, and task-management software preferred.
Experience with ClickUp, Quore, brand QA platforms, and hotel reporting systems preferred.
Reliable, dependable, discreet, and able to handle confidential operational, employee, guest, and financial information.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
This position operates in office and hotel environments across the Ignite Hotels portfolio and involves computer-based review, property inspections, interaction with hotel and Company leadership, changing assignment locations, travel, and fast-paced operational demands.
