Business Systems Specialist

Corporate Office | 7700 Trenholm Rd., Ext., Columbia SC 29223

Schedule Monday - Friday | Location 100% In Person, Travel 5%

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical support to onsite Community Managers and home office staff, by researching issues, making ledger adjustments, and providing detailed guidance and solutions
Support new personnel by providing software operational instruction, as needed
Develop and recommend new ideas/initiatives that will streamline and increase efficiency
Improve system performance by proactively identifying potential problems and exploring solutions
Provide assistance in entering start-up information for new properties into the property management and compliance software in order that the property management, compliance, and financial functions can be utilized for those properties as soon as possible
Work with CMI’s Training Department to develop training courses/materials related to the various functions of the property management software
Prepare and analyze data, provide reports as needed to colleagues or other industry partners
Commit to professional development by staying up to date on affordable housing program requirements and procedures, software updates and industry trends
Scan payments received at the home office
Other related duties as requested or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as real estate, management, or business preferred
Knowledge of affordable housing federal program requirements and procedures to include, but not limited to, USDA RD, HUD and LIHTC Program compliance preferred

Knowledge of basic accounting principles

PREFERRED SKILLS

Strong organizational and administrative skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and data management software
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize to ensure completion of work by given timelines

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Position requires occasional lifting of items no greater than 20 lbs
