Full Job Description

Optical Manager

Berkeley Eye Center, a well-established vision care practice seeks experienced Optician (5+ years) with leadership experience, for the position of Optical Manager, overseeing a high-volume Optical Shop in our Katy, Texas location.

We are looking for an individual who will lead by example in service and productivity, who will monitor daily flow and service in the optical department with an emphasis on troubleshooting the biggest challenges.

Ideal Candidates:

Expert in Customer service, creating a positive experience for each patient and employees.
Give direction to team in areas needing improvement.
Communicate ideas for improving processes with a positive and constructive attitude and developing this attitude in others.
Serve as a resource for your staff to assist in trouble shooting and improving customer service.
Manage Frame and Contact Lens inventory
Identify areas of opportunities to increase revenues
Well-versed with new lenses and contact lens products
Strong opticianry technical skills
Involved with daily patient optical sales/transaction
Mentor and Coach other opticians for self-development
Monitor and complete Payroll
Perform Mid-year and Annual Performance Reviews
Patient relations
Doctor relations
Employee relations, interviews, and disciplinary action
Interact with director of Optical Services
Available as a back-up manager when the Practice Manager is away.
ABO Certified preferred.
