Overview
Our client, a state government organization, is preparing for a major PeopleSoft Financials upgrade and statewide Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting implementation. This initiative will transition detailed fixed asset data currently maintained across approximately 40 separate agency-level systems into a centralized PeopleSoft environment. The Conversion Analyst will support this critical workstream by analyzing legacy data structures, designing functional source-to-target mappings, coordinating with agency stakeholders, validating data quality, and supporting conversion testing throughout the implementation lifecycle.
This is a functional data conversion role focused on analysis, mapping, and data quality — not hands-on development. The analyst will define conversion requirements and field-level mappings while partnering with technical teams responsible for building the conversion programs. This opportunity offers the chance to gain deep knowledge of a large-scale enterprise financial system, with potential for continued support opportunities after the initial conversion effort as the organization continues to enhance and support the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Fixed Assets data conversion workstream as part of a large-scale PeopleSoft Financials implementation.
- Partner closely with the implementation team and conversion leads to ensure conversion activities align with project milestones.
- Analyze current-state asset data structures across approximately 40 agency-level source systems and understand how those requirements translate into the target PeopleSoft environment.
- Design and document functional source-to-target data mappings, including field-level mapping specifications and business rules.
- Work with technical developers by providing conversion requirements and mapping documentation for the development of conversion programs.
- Coordinate data requests with agency stakeholders, including defining required formats, structures, and data submission expectations.
- Review incoming agency data submissions, identify data quality issues, document gaps, and work with agencies to resolve discrepancies.
- Support an iterative conversion cycle involving:
- Data collection
- Data review and validation
- Issue identification and remediation
- Updated data submissions
- Conversion reprocessing
- Perform data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure converted data meets business requirements.
- Support conversion testing activities through implementation and go-live.
- Collaborate with functional leads, technical teams, and agency representatives throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation related to conversion processes, mappings, validation results, and business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience supporting data conversion, migration, or implementation projects involving multiple source systems.
- Strong functional analysis experience with the ability to translate business requirements into conversion specifications.
- Experience creating or reviewing:
- Source-to-target mappings
- Field-level mappings
- Conversion documentation
- Data validation requirements
- Experience with data cleansing, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with business stakeholders.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams and business users.
- Experience working within large-scale ERP, financial systems, or enterprise application implementations.
- Ability to work onsite in Richmond, VA approximately three days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials (FSCM) implementations, upgrades, or support.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft modules such as:
- Asset Management
- General Ledger
- Financials
- Lease Accounting
- Experience with PeopleSoft PeopleTools is a plus.
- Previous ERP conversion experience within platforms such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar enterprise systems.
- Experience supporting public sector, government, or large-scale statewide implementations.
- Exposure to asset management, fixed assets, or financial data conversion processes.

Candidates with strong data migration and ERP implementation backgrounds will be considered even if they do not have direct Fixed Assets experience. The team has subject matter expertise supporting the Fixed Assets module, while this role focuses primarily on conversion methodology, data mapping, validation, and stakeholder coordination.
