Winvale is an INC500 recognized consulting firm and a leading advisor to Government contractors. We serve market leaders, executives, and managers of both large and small businesses across all industries by providing expert guidance as they compete for business within the public sector. We’re excited to announce a new opening for a Business Systems Analyst in our Richmond, VA office.

Position Summary

Winvale is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the Enterprise Systems PMO in delivering internal systems and process-improvement projects across the company. The Business Systems Analyst will manage small-to-medium projects assigned by the PMO from initiation through closeout and will serve as the PMO’s lead resource for documenting, mapping, and improving Winvale’s business processes. This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, and business stakeholders, and is ideal for an early-career professional who wants to grow into project management or systems leadership within a fast-paced government contracting consultancy. This is a full-time, six-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance and business need.

The position reports directly to the President of Winvale, who serves as the Executive Champion of the Enterprise Systems PMO, offering exceptional executive visibility and mentorship.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management (approx. 50%)

Manage projects assigned by the Enterprise Systems PMO, including planning, scheduling, task tracking, risk/issue management, and stakeholder communication.
Develop and maintain project artifacts: charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, status reports, RAID logs, and closeout documentation.
Coordinate cross-functional project teams and third-party vendors; escalate risks, blockers, and scope changes to the PMO in a timely manner.
Facilitate project meetings — kickoffs, working sessions, stakeholder reviews, and retrospectives — and publish agendas, minutes, and action items.
Track project performance against schedule, scope, and budget baselines and report status directly to the President/Executive Champion on a defined cadence.
Support PMO governance activities, including intake of new project requests, prioritization inputs, and portfolio reporting.

Business Process Documentation & Analysis (approx. 40%)

Elicit, analyze, and document current-state (“as-is”) and future-state (“to-be”) business processes through interviews, workshops, and direct observation.
Produce clear, standardized process documentation: process maps/flowcharts (e.g., BPMN or swimlane diagrams), standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and RACI matrices.
Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements for enterprise system enhancements and implementations; translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
Identify process gaps, redundancies, and automation opportunities; recommend improvements with supporting analysis.
Maintain a centralized, version-controlled process documentation library and keep it current as systems and processes change.
Translate process documentation and business requirements into system requirements and configuration specifications.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT): develop test cases, coordinate testers, log defects, and verify fixes.

Systems Support & General (approx. 10%)

Support enterprise system configuration under PMO direction (e.g., fields, workflows, dashboards, and user roles).
Assist with system integration and data migration efforts, including data mapping, cleanup, and validation.
Develop training materials and job aids; assist with end-user training and change management for new systems and processes.
Support data-quality and reporting initiatives across enterprise platforms.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Enterprise Systems PMO.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent additional experience).
2–3 years of professional experience as a business analyst, project coordinator, or similar role.
Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating projects through a full lifecycle, including schedules, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Hands-on experience documenting business processes and requirements (process maps, SOPs, user stories, or functional specifications).
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio (or equivalent diagramming tools).
Demonstrated ability to learn new enterprise software platforms quickly and become a power user.
Basic data literacy: building reports, working with data exports, and performing data validation in Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.
Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with enterprise business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, or project management platforms) and supporting their adoption or improvement.
System administration or configuration experience on any ERP, CRM, or workflow platform.
Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms and workflow automation tools.
Basic SQL or experience with reporting/BI tools such as Power BI.
Familiarity with API and system integration concepts.
Familiarity with PMBOK-based project management practices and/or Agile/Scrum methodologies.
CAPM, CBAP/ECBA, Agile (CSM/PSM), or Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt) certification.
Exposure to the government contracting industry (e.g., GSA Schedules, SAM.gov, federal procurement processes).
Experience with process modeling notation (BPMN 2.0) and tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, or draw.io.
Experience supporting system implementations, migrations, or integrations.

Establishes or refreshes documentation for priority business processes, adopted as the authoritative reference by process owners.
Delivers accurate, on-time project status reporting with no significant gaps in PMO portfolio visibility.
Earns positive stakeholder feedback on facilitation, documentation quality, and responsiveness.

Working Conditions & Other

Standard office environment; hybrid work arrangement subject to PMO and company policy.
Occasional extended hours to meet project milestones.
This is a six-month temporary assignment with a defined start and end date. An extension or conversion to a permanent position may be offered based on performance and business need, but is not guaranteed.
A max wage of $38.46 hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications; benefits eligibility for temporary employees per Winvale, LLC policy.
