Position Summary

Aligned Cardiovascular Partners is seeking an IT Support Apprentice to join our Information Technology team. This is an entry-level, hands-on role designed for someone beginning their IT career who wants real exposure to a multi-site healthcare environment. The apprentice will work directly under the Director of Information Technology and alongside our Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams to resolve day-to-day end-user issues, support new hire onboarding, maintain hardware and peripherals across clinical and administrative sites, and assist with routine network and application administration tasks.

The primary purpose of this role is to take ownership of the high-volume, lower-complexity work that currently routes to the Director and senior staff — freeing them to focus on strategy, security, vendor management, and complex incidents — while the apprentice builds toward a Tier 1 / Help Desk Analyst role over 12 to 18 months.Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The following responsibilities reflect the actual recurring work observed in our environment over the past six months. The apprentice will be the first point of contact for these requests:

End-User Support (the majority of the role)

Password and account resets — Reset and unlock accounts in Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, athenahealth, PICOM, UniFi, and other line-of-business applications. Reset multi-factor authentication when users lose or replace devices.
Computer performance issues — Triage and resolve slow, freezing, hanging, or unexpectedly restarting workstations. Run standard diagnostics, clear temp files, check for pending updates, verify CrowdStrike Falcon health, and escalate hardware-level failures.
Login and access issues — Investigate "site can't be reached" errors, expired credentials, locked accounts, and clinical portal access problems. Use a documented checklist before escalating.
Peripheral support — Replace or reconfigure mice, keyboards, monitors, webcams, printers and headsets.
New hire onboarding and offboarding — Create Microsoft 365 mailboxes, assign licenses, set up athenahealth and PICOM accounts, image and stage Dell laptops/desktops, build the new-hire welcome packet with logins, and remove access cleanly when staff depart.
Application access setup — Provision access to new and existing applications
Mobile device support — Help staff set up Outlook, Teams, and MFA apps on company and BYOD phones.
