Our growing CPA firm is seeking a motivated professional to join our Client Advisory, Accounting & Tax Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with business owners, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services that help clients make informed decisions and achieve their goals.

Position Summary

As a Tax Associate, you will assist clients with tax preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and advisory services. You will work closely with business owners and management teams to deliver accurate financial information, identify opportunities for improvement, solve business challenges, and support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and client-focused, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This individual enjoys building relationships, providing practical recommendations, and serving as a trusted advisor who helps clients improve performance and achieve long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

· Tax preparation, tax compliance, tax planning, and tax research

· Preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and nonprofit organizations

· Manage tax deadlines, extensions, and annual information reporting requirements, including 1099 and W-2 filings

· Communicate directly with clients, both virtually and face-to-face, regarding tax matters, planning opportunities, and advisory services

· Provide proactive tax consulting and assist clients with tax-related questions, notices, and compliance requirements

· Support client onboarding, accounting system setup, and implementation of accounting and financial reporting processes

· Financial statement preparation and general accounting services

· Account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, bookkeeping support, and maintenance of accurate general ledger records

· Assist clients with accounting software optimization, workflow improvements, and best practices for financial management

Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial and tax reporting

Education & Experience

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or advisory services are highly desirable.
