Full Job Description

Position Overview:
We are looking for an organized, hands-on Catering & Event Staff Manager to oversee the execution of off-site catering and in-house events. This role is responsible for staffing, coordinating, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences from setup to breakdown. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and has a strong eye for detail and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and execute catering events and private functions
Recruit, train, schedule, and manage catering/event staff
Serve as the main point of contact during events to ensure smooth operations
Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown to meet company standards
Maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism
Communicate with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure alignment
Manage staffing levels based on event size and needs
Ensure proper handling, transportation, and setup of food, beverages, and equipment
Monitor labor and event costs to meet budget goals
Handle on-site problem-solving and guest concerns quickly and professionally
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards

Qualifications:

Previous experience in catering, events, or restaurant management required
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Most summer Saturdays will be wedding catering days.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
Valid driver’s license (preferred, if off-site catering is involved)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods

Preferred Skills:

Experience with event planning or banquet service
Knowledge of food safety.
Familiarity with scheduling and event management software
