About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations at our food production facility in California.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to keep production moving, develop employees, solve problems quickly, and maintain high standards for safety, food quality, productivity, sanitation, and efficiency.
The Production Supervisor will lead employees throughout the production floor, coordinate staffing and workflow, monitor production performance, support food safety compliance, and work closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Procurement, Logistics, and the Operations Manager.

Compensation
$26.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.

What You'll Do
Production Leadership
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure schedules, production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
- Assign work and monitor production employees to ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and according to established SOPs.
- Manage activity across the production floor and adjust workflow as needed to meet production requirements.
- Create and verify daily production schedules based on purchase orders and production demands.
- Monitor production volume, quality, efficiency, and waste throughout the shift.
- Review staffing and attendance levels and adjust labor assignments based on operational needs.
- Conduct shift huddles to communicate safety information, production priorities, and performance expectations.
- Complete accurate end-of-shift reports documenting results, challenges, and corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate production employees.
- Provide employees with ongoing performance feedback and direction.
- Support corrective action and disciplinary documentation when necessary.
- Train employees on SOPs, GMPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Reinforce accountability, attendance, productivity, safety, and quality expectations.
- Work with the Operations Manager to support staffing and shift coverage.
Production & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Identify causes of downtime, waste, production delays, or quality concerns.
- Help implement process improvements in partnership with management.
- Monitor equipment and production processes for safe and efficient operation.
- Identify equipment issues and submit maintenance work orders promptly.
- Follow up on maintenance issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Verify sufficient raw materials and packaging are available before production runs.
- Support production directly when operational needs require it.
Food Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
The Production Supervisor plays an important role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and audit-ready food manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, OSHA, sanitation, allergen-control, and company food-safety requirements.
- Monitoring housekeeping and sanitation throughout production.
- Coordinating sanitation activities to help prevent cross-contamination.
- Reviewing production documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Addressing food-safety, quality, and workplace-safety concerns immediately.
- Maintaining a clean and compliant production environment.
- Reinforcing proper PPE and safe work practices.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous food manufacturing, bakery, food processing, or packaged-food production experience.
- Experience working with GMP, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, or food-safety programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement and waste-reduction initiatives.

Work Environment
This is an on-site position in California within an active food manufacturing facility.
The Production Supervisor spends significant time throughout the production floor supervising employees and monitoring operations.
The position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work in cold, wet, or hot production environments.
- Bend, stoop, sit, walk, and perform physical activities associated with production-floor supervision.
- Lift up to 50 pounds when required.
- Wear required PPE, including steel-toe safety shoes, hair nets, beard nets when applicable, gloves, and other required protective equipment.
Shift
2nd Shift: 1:30 PM–10:30 PM
Flexibility in work hours or days may be required based on production and business needs.
