Specific Duties
1. Parent Partner is to work closely with the Wraparound childs parent/caregiver or for children/youth in out-of-home care placement will work with both the out-of-home caregiver and parent/current caregiver in order to represent their best interest and shall participate as a member of the CFT.
2. The ideal Parent Partner has lived experience and certain strengths and skills which are highlighted below:
- Demonstrates creative and resourcefulness in order to effectively navigate the system of care.
- Has the ability to connect with families of various backgrounds and engage caregivers so they are open to teaming with Wraparound.
- Shares the story of their own journey in order to connect, empower, and give hope to parents.
3. Participate and help facilitate the Parent Ran Support Group Training and be able to, after training, complete:
a. Assessments;
b. Service Plans;
c. Appropriate Consents;d. Progress Notes;
e. Evidence of Quarterly Case Supervision;
f. Relevant Signatures;
g. Service Outcomes; and
h. Aftercare Plans.
4. Identify, analyze and address problems, issues and opportunities to continuously improve services.
Supervision and Duties:
1. Receives supervision from Parent Partner Supervisor.
2. Collaborates with other Agency staff.
3. Consults with providers of services in the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma (GED) and; At the time of hire Parent Partner must not have an open probation case or have had an open DCFS case for at least one year.
- Parent Partner must have experience navigating the Child Welfare system through experience.
- Must possess valid California drivers license and have a driving record acceptable to the Agencys insurance carrier.
- Spanish Speaking (Preferred)
Physical Demands of Position:
1. Requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods.
2. Requires vision correctable to within the normal range to operate a vehicle.
3. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.
4. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting.
5. Requires ability to physically restrain resident.
6. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
