Summary:
Responsible for assisting with boat arrivals and departures, fueling operations, pump-outs, point-of-sale transactions and charging, and general marina upkeep. The position also provides concierge-style service to marina members, including wine and other item pickups and deliveries, while maintaining a friendly and professional experience for members and guests. Must be comfortable working outdoors in varied and inclement weather, have a strong work ethic, and be willing to assist wherever needed to support daily marina operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- · Provide the highest and most efficient level of service for our members, guests, and crew by exceeding their expectations.
- Ensure that the standards set in Marina’s Mission Statement are employed at all times.
- Be inside the Marina Office at 7:30 AM each morning ready to meet members’ needs.
- Check Trello for any urgent notices. Use the Intraday section to make an action plan for the day of any tasks that need to be accomplished.
- Complete opening procedures immediately upon arriving at work.
- Deliver previous day’s chits to the accounting office by 8:30AM.
- Print fuel monitoring inventory from Veeder Reader (Fuel Monitoring System) each morning at opening and each evening by 5:00 PM for Fuel Inventory. Monitor Fuel levels to ensure UST’s have acceptable inventory.
- Perform Daily Dock Check by 9:00 AM. Visually inspect all boats to ensure they are properly secured and the waterline is at boot stripe level.
- Perform trash run of the entire marina no later than 8:30 AM and again before 5:00 PM. Transfer overflow garbage from our dumpster to the loading dock compactor as needed, never allowing garbage to be seen outside of the dumpster.
- Clean marina compound throughout the day paying special attention to the removal of all litter and trash on the ground around the trash container, Marina as well as the Marina Parking Lot.
- Clean the Marina Golf Carts and handcarts daily. Wash all at a minimum of once per week.
- Assist members, crew and contractors with deliveries to and from the boat. Use the limo cart for transporting members, groceries and luggage. Use the dump bed for contractor’s supplies and fuel dock runs.
- Assist boats arriving and departing the marina with dockside assistance including the complete hook up of all electrics, telephone, cable and water hoses. Leave all the above neat and curled before departing the boat.
- Assist members, guests and crew with merchandise purchases. Greet everyone as they enter the store. Restock cooler inventory as needed.
- Perform Concierge duties for all members, guests and crew. Answer all questions and inquiries about anything. If you don’t know the answer, ask someone who does. Never let someone walk out without an answer to his or her inquiry.
- Assist other departments as needed with lateral service. Notify the Harbormaster or Marina Director of any request for such service from another department before complying with request.
- Complete fuel report at days end. Turn into Harbormaster or Marina Director
- Marina golf carts must be “Member Ready” at all times. No trash, debris or tools should be left in the carts.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets.
- Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with teammates.
- Assists with maintaining an above average appearance for all marina areas.
- Assists with the proper maintenance of all marina/dock equipment. Follows the routine preventative maintenance program.

- · Knowledge of boat related systems and docking procedures.
- · Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
- · Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.

- · Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Boating knowledge preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak on a one-on-one basis to members and guests.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills are required such as Word, Excel, and Outlook to effectively perform in this role.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Boater Safety Course recommended.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
