Full Job Description

Catawba Hospital located in Catawba, Virginia is a JCAHO accredited inpatient psychiatric facility with 110 beds that provides comprehensive mental-health services including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Located in a beautiful rural setting, only 20 minutes from downtown Roanoke or Salem. Extensive orientation and training provided that will ensure your success as a new member on our Nursing Team.

Positions are available for licensed RNs interested in caring for adult and/or geriatric patients with psychiatric/mental health issues. Work as part of a dedicated team that provides individualized, recovery focused care. Utilizing knowledge and experience, provides adult and geriatric psychiatric patients specific quality nursing care through nursing processes in accordance with Hospital policy and procedure and standards of nursing practice. Evaluates, supervises, documents and provides guidance in performance of staff. Utilize nursing process with knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders and physical, psychological and social needs of the psychiatric patient. Skills in delegating nursing activities, skills in supervising, evaluating and counseling nursing employees.

Registered Nursing license or eligible for license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Stable work history required. Psychiatric, Mental Health, or Nursing Home experience preferred.
