Full Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to support individuals and clients with accurate, timely tax filings. This position is well suited to someone who combines technical tax knowledge with a thorough, client-focused approach. The ideal candidate brings experience from tax, audit, or public accounting environments and is comfortable using industry software to manage return preparation efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review individual tax returns with close attention to accuracy, compliance, and filing deadlines.
Meet with clients to gather financial information, clarify tax-related questions, and provide a high-quality service experience.
Apply current tax rules and regulations to assess documentation and complete returns correctly.
Use tax preparation platforms, including Lacerte and other Intuit-based tools, to organize data and finalize filings.
Examine supporting records for completeness and identify discrepancies or missing information before submission.
Coordinate with internal team members or related stakeholders to resolve tax issues and support audit or accounting matters when needed.
Maintain organized client files and documentation in accordance with firm standards and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Previous experience preparing tax returns in a tax, audit, or public accounting setting.
Working knowledge of individual income tax principles and filing requirements.
Proficiency with tax software, including Lacerte and other Intuit applications.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with clients.
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling financial information.
Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively during busy tax periods.
