Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. In this vital role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure financial compliance, and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial systems and contribute to the overall success of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge financial software and collaborate across departments to drive operational excellence.

Duties

Prepare, analyze, and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double entry bookkeeping and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, accounts payable automation, and vendor reconciliations.
Oversee accounts receivable management, including collections, customer invoicing, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
Conduct general ledger accounting and account reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity across multiple accounting systems.
Support payroll management by collaborating with the payroll system to process employee payroll on time.
Assist in financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques such as formulas and VLOOKUP functions to identify trends and discrepancies.
Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Construction accounting experience is preferred.
5 - years experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Proven proficiency with financial software. (QuickBooks Online)
Demonstrated expertise in accounting systems integration and automation tools for accounts payable and receivable processes.
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities including formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and data analysis techniques.
Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-departmental teams and external auditors.
