Skilled Construction Laborer – Custom Trim & Cabinetry

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Skilled Construction Laborer with experience building and installing custom trim and cabinetry. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality craftsmanship, can complete smaller projects independently, works well with a crew, and can reliably travel to job sites throughout the Rome, Georgia area.
This position offers growth potential for a qualified candidate to oversee larger-scale projects, coordinate job-site activities, and help guide other crew members.
Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and install custom cabinetry, built-ins, and architectural millwork
- Measure, cut, fit, and install custom interior trim, including crown molding, baseboards, casing, paneling, and decorative details
- Independently plan, organize, and complete smaller construction and installation projects
- Evaluate job requirements, identify needed materials, and communicate project needs
- Read and follow drawings, measurements, specifications, and project instructions
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment
- Prepare materials and work areas for installation
- Perform demolition, framing, finishing, and other general construction tasks as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Identify and communicate project or installation issues promptly
- Work professionally and respectfully in customers’ homes and occupied spaces
- Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements
- As experience and responsibilities grow, potentially oversee larger-scale projects, coordinate daily job-site activities, and help direct crew members and subcontractors
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of professional experience building and installing custom trim and cabinetry
- Strong finish-carpentry skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage time, solve problems, and complete smaller jobs with minimal supervision
- Ability to take accurate measurements and make precise cuts
- Working knowledge of common construction and woodworking tools
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials and perform physically demanding work
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to travel to and from job sites
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Residence in Rome, Georgia, or within a reasonable commuting distance
- Experience working in custom homes or high-end residential construction
- Experience with cabinet installation, scribing, hardware installation, and finish work
- Ability to work from shop drawings or construction plans
- Previous experience leading crews, coordinating job sites, or overseeing projects
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Basic framing, drywall, painting, or remodeling experience
