Berry College Police Department seeks applications for the full-time position of Police Officer. Berry College Police Officers are P.O.S.T. certified officers who provide 24 hour a day seven day a week law enforcement/security services to the college. Located midway between Atlanta, Ga., and Chattanooga, Tenn., on a 27,000-acre campus just north of Rome, Ga., Berry College is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts college with approximately 2,100 undergraduate and graduate students. Duties include:
- Patrol the college campus in an effort to prevent, deter and discover any personal or property crimes

Respond to emergency situations

Perform security checks
-
Investigate traffic accidents and report crimes

Enforce traffic and parking regulations
-
Enforce federal, state, local laws and college regulations as applicable

Preparation of accurate and timely law enforcement related records and reports
The Police Officer position at Berry College includes working days, nights, weekend shifts, and holidays as assigned.
- Georgia P.O.S.T. Certification as a Police Officer

At least 21 years old

Good verbal and written communication skills

Previous experience with a full service agency preferred

Some college course work or credit preferred

Must meet all P.O.S.T. requirements annually to stay certified
