Full Job Description

Tax Supervisor – Houston (Hybrid) | $110k–$120k

5 Years Public Accounting Experience Required + CPA/EA Preferred

This firm sits in that sweet spot between small and mid-size.

Structured enough to support your development, but still flexible enough that you’re not boxed into a narrow role or lost in layers of hierarchy.

You’ll get hybrid working (2 days a week, chosen by you) and a busy season that typically peaks around 50–55 hours for a short stretch in spring and autumn, rather than the long, drawn-out grind you might be used to elsewhere.

In return, you’ll get real exposure early, working across a broad mix of industries and having client face time that, in larger firms, often doesn’t come until Manager level. That kind of early responsibility really compounds over the long term.

Day to day, this is a generalist role working across a varied client base, including HNW individuals, nonprofits, and a range of business entities. You’ll be handling a mix of S-Corps and individual returns, with a stronger emphasis on review work, while also supporting and developing junior staff.

Client contact is a real part of the job here, so being comfortable communicating clearly and confidently with clients is important.
