Full Job Description

**Prep Cook**

**Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes for various events and banquets. If you have a passion for the food industry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

**Responsibilities:**

Set up workstations with all necessary supplies, ensuring the area is fully sanitized and ready for use.
Ensure station setup includes: floor mats, sanitizer buckets, wash buckets with proper solutions, and any additional equipment required.
Review BEOs carefully, confirming headcounts, menu items, dietary accommodations, service style (buffet, plated, or family‑style), and required timing.
Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces).
Cook menu items in coordination with the rest of the kitchen team.
Follow instructions from the Executive Chef and report any issues promptly.
Complete the cook checklist and obtain approval from the Chef or a supervisor.
Clean and break down your station, properly labeling, dating, and initialing all leftover food.
Stock inventory using the First‑In, First‑Out (FIFO) method.
Ensure food is produced consistently, with high quality, and delivered in a timely manner.
Comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations.
Maintain a positive, professional attitude with all staff members.

**Requirements:**

Working knowledge of sanitation practices and a valid Food Handler Certification.
Uniform: Black pants, chef shirt, non‑slip shoes
Hygiene: Long hair pulled back, short fingernails with no polish, no jewelry except plain wedding bands
Proven cooking experience, including prior work as a cook or prep cook.
Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods.
