Full Job Description

Job Summary

Women of Colors, Inc. (WOC) is seeking a visionary, mission-driven Executive Director to lead our organization in advancing equity, belonging, cross-cultural understanding, intergenerational dialogue, and civic engagement throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.

The Executive Director serves as the organization's chief executive and strategic leader, providing oversight of strategic planning, program development, fundraising, financial stewardship, operations, staff leadership, and community partnerships. Working closely with the Board of Directors, this individual will ensure WOC remains mission-aligned, financially sustainable, and responsive to the evolving needs of the communities we serve while positioning the organization as a regional leader in equity, healing, and systems change.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and guide the organization's long-term vision and growth.
Lead strategic planning and translate community needs into impactful initiatives.
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of culturally responsive, trauma-informed programs.
Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including grants, sponsorships, donor cultivation, and resource development.
Oversee organizational budgeting, financial management, compliance, and operational excellence.
Manage the WOC Center, ensuring it remains a safe, accessible, and mission-aligned community resource.
Explore and develop mission-aligned earned-income and social enterprise opportunities.
Build and strengthen relationships with community partners, funders, policymakers, and stakeholders.
Represent WOC throughout the region in public forums, coalitions, and collaborative initiatives.
Foster an inclusive, healing-centered organizational culture by recruiting, developing, and supporting a high-performing team.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, organizational policies, and Board directives.
Partner closely with the Board of Directors to maintain transparency, accountability, and alignment with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
7–10 years of senior nonprofit leadership experience.
Demonstrated success in fundraising, financial management, and program development.
Experience with facility management and/or social enterprise development preferred.
Strong strategic planning, organizational leadership, and communication skills.
Deep commitment to racial equity, cultural humility, and community empowerment.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
