Café & Hospitality Manager

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and hands-on Café & Hospitality Manager to oversee our café operations while leading the overall guest experience at The Little Social. This role combines strong café and food-service leadership with a genuine passion for hospitality, people, and creating an environment where guests feel welcomed, cared for, and valued.
The ideal candidate understands that hospitality goes beyond good customer service. We are looking for someone who notices the details, anticipates guest needs, leads by example, and helps create the warm and welcoming experience we want every family to have when they walk through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality
· Set and maintain a high standard of hospitality throughout The Little Social
· Ensure every guest is warmly welcomed, acknowledged, and cared for from arrival through departure
· Lead by example in creating genuine connections with guests and families
· Train and coach team members on hospitality standards, guest interaction, and service expectations
· Be attentive to the overall guest experience and proactively identify opportunities to make it better
· Ensure the café and guest areas remain welcoming, clean, organized, and thoughtfully presented
· Handle guest questions, concerns, and special requests with professionalism, warmth, and good judgment
· Help create an environment where returning guests feel recognized and new guests immediately feel comfortable
· Support private events and special gatherings by helping ensure guests receive attentive and organized service
· Work closely with ownership to continually strengthen The Little Social’s culture of hospitality and community
Menu Development & Food Preparation
· Develop new sandwich recipes, seasonal menu items, and café food offerings
· Test and refine recipes before adding them to the menu
· Create clear, standardized recipes with exact ingredients, portions, preparation steps, and presentation instructions
· Prepare sandwiches and other food items during regular café operations
· Train staff to properly prepare each menu item
· Monitor staff performance to ensure recipes are followed consistently
· Maintain consistent taste, portion size, quality, and presentation
· Work with ownership to determine pricing, ingredient costs, and menu profitability
· Source ingredients and recommend products that support quality and cost-control goals
· Monitor food waste and adjust preparation levels as needed
· Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and sanitation procedures
Café Operations & Team Leadership
· Oversee the daily operation of the café, coffee bar, and food-preparation areas
· Supervise, coach, and develop baristas and café team members
· Lead from the floor and remain actively involved in daily operations
· Maintain high standards for beverage quality, food presentation, cleanliness, service, and hospitality
· Assist with employee scheduling and manage labor efficiently
· Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and accountability
· Monitor inventory and place food, beverage, and supply orders
· Ensure compliance with food-safety and sanitation requirements
· Monitor daily sales, labor, waste, and other performance goals
· Provide reporting as required
· Collaborate with ownership on promotions, seasonal offerings, events, and operational improvements
· Foster a positive team culture centered on service, excellence, hospitality, and mutual respect
Qualifications
· At least 2 years of café, restaurant, food-service preferred and hospitality, or guest-experience leadership a must
· Strong hospitality mindset with a natural ability to make people feel welcomed and valued
· Experience leading and developing a customer-facing team
· Experience developing recipes or creating menu items
· Strong food-preparation and café/kitchen-management skills
· Ability to document recipes and teach staff to follow them accurately
· Knowledge of portion control, food costs, inventory, and waste management
· Strong leadership and team-building skills
· Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, and communication skills
· Ability to recognize guest needs and resolve concerns with warmth and professionalism
· Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
· Specialty coffee knowledge preferred but not required
· Food Manager Certification, or willingness to obtain it
