Assistant Food & Beverage Director

This is more than a management position—it is a leadership opportunity designed for someone who aspires to grow into the role of Director of Food & Beverage. The Assistant Director will work alongside the current Director, gaining firsthand experience in every aspect of club operations while preparing to assume departmental leadership as part of our long-term succession plan.

Position Summary

The Assistant Food & Beverage Director plays a key leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of Beachwalk Club's food and beverage program. This individual will partner closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to ensure exceptional member experiences, efficient operations, financial accountability, and a culture built on hospitality, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in directing all Food & Beverage operations, including the restaurant, bars, banquet and private events, and member functions.
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Front-of-House leadership and service teams while fostering a culture of accountability and hospitality.
Partner with the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to execute operational initiatives, menus, promotions, and service standards.
Maintain exceptional service quality and ensure every member receives a memorable dining experience.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, purchasing, scheduling, labor controls, and cost management.
Monitor financial performance, analyze operational reports, and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and company policies.
Assist in planning and executing club events, wine dinners, member programming, and private functions.
Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and staff development initiatives.
Build strong relationships with members through visible leadership, responsiveness, and proactive engagement.
Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and confidently lead operations in the Director's absence.
Contribute ideas and strategic initiatives that continue to elevate the Beachwalk Club experience.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in Food & Beverage or Hospitality Management.
Private Club, Resort, or Luxury Hospitality experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability with a passion for mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
Strong financial acumen including labor management, inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
Proficiency with restaurant POS systems and hospitality software. Experience with Club Essentials is a plus.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business demands.
