Full Job Description

Metric Engineering is seeking a seasoned, Florida-licensed Senior Engineer to join our team in a flexible, part-time capacity. This role is designed for an experienced professional who is interested in contributing on an as-needed basis as a Quality Control (QC) Reviewer and Senior Technical Advisor.

This is an excellent opportunity for a semi-retired professional, an active consultant with available bandwidth, or a Professional Engineer (PE) seeking meaningful, project-based work without a full-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide independent quality control reviews of roadway and transportation design deliverables for FDOT projects
Ensure compliance with FDOT standards, project requirements, and industry best practices
Serve as a senior technical advisor to project teams, offering guidance on engineering design and procedural matters
Mentor and support engineering staff, helping to elevate technical quality and consistency across projects
Identify risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement in design documents

Qualifications:

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida (required)
Extensive experience in FDOT roadway and transportation design
Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, procedures, and QA/QC processes
Proven ability to perform detailed technical reviews and provide actionable feedback
Ability to work independently in a remote, flexible environment
