Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Years’ Experience Required: Five (5+) plus years of demonstrated success as a Purchasing Manager in the building materials industry

Description:

The Purchasing Manager in Texas oversees the procurement of materials and services for our company. We're looking for a strategic thinker with a proven background in purchasing and supply chain management. The Purchasing Manager will develop and implement purchasing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely delivery of materials. This role requires a strong technical background, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our teams. This position oversees purchasing staff and works closely with other departments such as sales, operations, finance, and other stakeholders.

Purchasing Manager Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Five (5+) plus years of demonstrated success as a Purchasing Manager in the building materials industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with purchasing software and systems (e.g., ERP, procurement platforms)
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Solid understanding of purchasing principles and practices

Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective purchasing strategies
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and materials
Data-driven approach to decision-making
Develop and implement purchasing strategies and processes
Develop and maintain purchasing metrics and reports
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers
Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery of materials
Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
