Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Programmer and take the lead in designing, developing, and optimizing computer numerical control (CNC) machining processes. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and precision measurement to produce high-quality metal components with accuracy and efficiency. Your innovative approach will help streamline production workflows, improve machining precision, and support our commitment to manufacturing excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to cutting-edge engineering projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC lathes and 5-axis CNC milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to accurately translate designs into machine instructions.
Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling on CNC machines while ensuring proper calibration using measurement tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Utilize CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and engineering CAD design tools to create or modify part models for manufacturing.
Program CNC machines using CAM software to generate efficient toolpaths that maximize productivity while maintaining tight tolerances.
Conduct quality control inspections through precise measurement techniques to verify part dimensions meet specifications; adjust programs as necessary for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with engineering teams on new product development by providing input on manufacturability and tooling requirements within lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

Proven experience in CNC programming for milling and turning operations using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent engineering design tools.
Knowledge of CNC tooling setup, machining tool selection, and fixture design for precision manufacturing.
Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
Experience operating measurement instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Mechanical knowledge of metal machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM) and 5-axis CNC machining.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
Ability to interpret schematics and schematics related to CNC tooling and machining setups.
Strong math skills for programming calculations involving geometry and measurement accuracy.
