VIVE ADOLESCENT CARE

Executive Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development

Department: Administration

Reports To: Executive Administrator

Status: Full-Time | Exempt | Executive Leadership

Direct Reports:

HR Admin assitant
Administrative Support (as assigned)
Future Human Resources Team Members

Executive Admin-on-Call: Required participation in the rotating Executive Admin-on-Call schedule (additional stipend provided).

Position Overview

The Executive Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development is responsible for leading Vive's people strategy and developing the workforce that supports exceptional behavioral healthcare for adolescents and their families.

Vive operates a comprehensive behavioral health continuum that includes psychiatric hospitalization, intermediate secure care, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and outpatient transition services. Every employee contributes to creating a safe, therapeutic environment where adolescents can stabilize, heal, and successfully transition home.

This executive leader oversees all Human Resources operations while serving as a strategic advisor to leadership on workforce planning, talent acquisition, organizational culture, employee engagement, leadership development, succession planning, and performance management.

The Executive Director is expected to build systems that allow Vive to grow while maintaining exceptional employee engagement, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field required
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred

Experience

3 years of progressive Human Resources leadership
1-3 years of executive or senior leadership experience
Healthcare, behavioral health, or hospital experience preferred
Experience leading organizational growth and change initiatives
Experience supervising managers and professional staff

Essential Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Develop and execute Vive's workforce strategy.
Participate in organizational strategic planning.
Support organizational growth through workforce planning.
Develop annual HR goals aligned with organizational priorities.
Advise leadership on organizational design and staffing strategies.
Lead organizational change initiatives.

Talent Acquisition

Oversee all recruiting and hiring activities.
Develop proactive recruitment strategies.
Reduce organizational vacancies.
Build recruiting partnerships with schools and professional organizations.
Improve hiring efficiency and quality.
Maintain current job descriptions and career pathways.

Employee Development

Oversee onboarding and orientation.
Ensure competency validation for all new employees.
Develop leadership training curriculum.
Coordinate management development programs.
Support continuing education initiatives.
Build succession plans for key leadership positions.

Employee Relations

Lead employee investigations.
Oversee corrective action processes.
Coach leaders through difficult employee situations.
Ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
Promote a culture of accountability and respect.

Human Resources Operations

Oversee payroll and benefits administration.
Maintain personnel records.
Ensure licensure and credential compliance.
Maintain HRIS systems.
Administer leave programs.
Maintain employee handbook, policies, and SOPs.
Lead HR compliance audits.
Support Joint Commission readiness.

Organizational Development

Analyze workforce metrics.
Improve employee retention.
Develop engagement initiatives.
Improve onboarding and orientation.
Build leadership accountability systems.
Support KPI implementation throughout the organization.
Lead HR quality improvement initiatives.

Executive Admin-on-Call Responsibilities

Participate in the rotating Executive Admin-on-Call schedule.

Responsibilities include:

Responding to staffing emergencies.
Supporting workplace crises.
Assisting with behavioral health emergencies requiring executive guidance.
Providing leadership during after-hours operational issues.
Supporting employee relations concerns.
Participating in monthly executive debriefings.
Supporting emergency operations and organizational continuity.

An additional stipend is provided for participation in the Executive Admin-on-Call schedule.

Participation in the Executive Admin-on-Call rotation is required and includes an additional stipend.
