Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Maintenance & Pool Technician to join our Engineering and Water Quality team. This position is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and daily operations of the facility’s systems, including all mineral and freshwater pools. This vital role ensures a safe, clean, and fully operational experience for both guests and staff, maintaining the resort’s commitment to excellence and well-being.

Shift Availability:
- Full-time, including weekends and holidays
- Shifts include early mornings and late evenings
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections of pools, spas, and facility systems.
- Daily brushing, vacuuming, netting, and water testing of all mineral and freshwater pools.
- Monitor and maintain water quality, including chemical balance, filtration, and sanitation.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including pumps, plumbing, and pool equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues or safety concerns.
- Conduct inspections for structural safety, functionality, and compliance with codes and standards.
- Repair or replace fixtures, lighting, HVAC components, and other general facility equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and chemical usage.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Report and resolve potential hazards; follow all safety protocols and use proper PPE.
- Provide courteous assistance to guests and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support other departments as needed and complete additional duties assigned by the department manager.
- Perform routine draining and deep cleaning of pools to maintain high quality standards, including removal of algae and mineral buildup.
- Clean and sanitize all handrails on a daily basis.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of pool decks and surrounding walkways.
- Perform de-icing of walkways and stairs to ensure safe guest access.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years or older to apply.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance or pool operations beneficial, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of tools, techniques, and maintenance equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with safety, chemical handling, and facility protocols.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) – company will provide training if needed.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification – company will provide training.

Essential Physical Functions
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crouch, and reach while performing maintenance and pool operations throughout the resort.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to safely climb ladders, stairs, and platforms, and work at varying heights around pool decks, mechanical rooms, and outdoor areas.
- Requires repetitive use of hands, arms, and shoulders to operate hand tools, power tools, valves, pumps, and filtration systems.
- Must be able to work in and around chlorine-treated pools, saltwater pools, and mineral hot springs, including exposure to pool chemicals, moisture, steam, and wet or slippery surfaces.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and direct sunlight.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read gauges, meters, chemical labels, safety signage, and work orders.
- Auditory ability sufficient to hear alarms, equipment malfunctions, radio communication, and verbal instructions.
Standard Work Environment Conditions
Employees may be required to work in environments that include:
- Indoor and outdoor resort settings
- Proximity to chlorine-treated pools, saltwater pools, and mineral hot springs pools
- Exposure to humidity, steam, moisture, and wet or slippery surfaces
- Variable temperatures, including heat from hot springs and outdoor sun exposure
- Exposure to cleaning agents, pool chemicals, and food service chemicals (role-dependent)
- High guest traffic, noise, and fast-paced service conditions
