Join Power In Motion Dance!
Power In Motion Dance is seeking passionate, energetic, and reliable Dance Instructors to join our growing program. We are looking for positive individuals who love working with children and are committed to creating a fun, encouraging, and inspiring learning environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels.
Located in beautiful St. Joseph, Michigan — just 90 miles from Chicago and minutes from Lake Michigan beaches — Power In Motion offers a supportive team culture with opportunities for creativity, leadership, and professional growth.
Positions Available
We are currently seeking instructors with experience in:
- Jazz
- Ballet
- Tap
- Hip Hop
- Contemporary/Lyrical
- Preschool Dance
- Acro/Tumbling (preferred but not required)
Both recreational and competitive dance experience are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate dance classes
- Create a positive and motivating classroom environment
- Teach proper technique, choreography, musicality, and performance skills
- Prepare dancers for performances, recitals, and competitions as needed
- Maintain classroom structure, safety, and professionalism
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and leadership staff
- Assist with recital preparation, costumes, and special events
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training opportunities
- Represent Power In Motion positively both inside and outside the studio
Qualifications
- Previous dance teaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dance technique and classroom management
- Ability to work with dancers of various ages and skill levels
- Positive attitude with strong communication and leadership skills
- Reliable, professional, and organized
- Passion for teaching and inspiring children
- Competitive dance experience is a plus
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass a background check
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to demonstrate dance movements and choreography
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds when necessary

Schedule
- Classes held primarily Monday–Thursday afternoons and evenings, with Saturday morning classes available
- Some weekends may be required for performances, competitions, and events
