Insurance Office Assistant / Future Licensed Agent (Property & Casualty)

St. Joseph, MO | Farmers Union Midwest Agency

Full‑time | In‑office position

About the Role

We are a well‑established insurance agency seeking a motivated, tech‑strong individual interested in building a long‑term career in the insurance industry. This role is ideal for someone pursuing a business degree or someone who enjoys quoting, client interaction, and learning how insurance works behind the scenes.

You will begin as an office assistant supporting quoting, data entry, client communication, and technology‑based tasks. We will guide you towards obtaining a Property & Casualty license, and once licensed, your responsibilities and pay will be evaluated. You will be expected to obtain your license within 30 days of being hired.

What You’ll Do

Assist with quoting home, auto, and commercial insurance
Work directly with clients by phone, email, and in‑office
Enter applications, update client files, and maintain accurate documentation
Learn underwriting basics and how to evaluate risk
Support agency operations with strong computer and technology skills
Prepare to obtain your Missouri P&C license within 30 days
What We’re Looking For
Strong computer and technology skills (required)
Professional communication and attention to detail
Willingness to obtain a Property & Casualty license
Insurance background is a plus but not required
Interest in business, sales, or insurance
Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast‑paced office
Schedule
Monday–Friday
In‑office position (no remote work)

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
