Position Overview: As a Machinist at Vulcan Metals Corp. based in St. Joseph, Missouri, you will play a crucial role in the production process, operating various machinery to manufacture precision components for our diverse range of products. You will work as part of a skilled team in a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of high-quality parts that meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

Operation of CNC machines with the understanding of machining concept Set-up and program machine equipment
Work to hold Scheduling and maintain a good workflow
Notify management of machine problems as needed to keep the equipment and tools in good working order
Perform preventative maintenance necessary for the Machine Tool
Use problem solving skills to improve machine productivity and quality
Maintain good housekeeping at your work station
Immediately correct safety issues that are within your area and alert management to any safety issues that need further attention

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Understanding of all the basics and advance tooling application on conventional and CNC machine workstations
Apprenticeship certificate or equal is a plus

Experience:

3-5 years of CNC machining experience preferred
Heavy industrial Machine Shop experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints.
Strong math skills.
PLC skills preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions
Must be able to twist, stoop, bend, and stand in the performance of job duties
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the shift
