Full Job Description

Job Title: CNC Machinist – Mill Turn / Lathe

Status: Part-Time
Work Type: Temp to Hire

Shift Weekends Friday - Sunday, 12 hour shifts

Pay: $27-$32/hr

Location: Brooklyn Park

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their growing team in a clean, bright, and highly advanced medical device manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating sophisticated CNC Mill Turn and Nakamura Lathe equipment to manufacture highly complex precision components for the medical device industry. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-focused, and eager to work with cutting-edge automation technology.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate CNC Mill Turn I150 machines and/or CNC Nakamura Lathe machines.
2. Read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC code in collaboration with Engineering teams and company SOPs.
3. Manufacture precision products by interpreting blueprints, operation instructions, manufacturing specifications, and GD&T requirements.
4. Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional and surface conformity.
5. Monitor and adjust manufacturing processes using inspection data as needed.
6. Maintain tooling, machinery, and work areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
7. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
8. Complete part finishing operations including deburring and abrasive finishing.
9. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and production team members to meet manufacturing goals.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Minimum 3–5 years of CNC machining experience in Mill Turn and/or Lathe operations.
2. Experience with Nakamura equipment and/or I150 machines preferred.
3. Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to read advanced mechanical drawings.
4. Knowledge of metrology principles and complex part inspection techniques.
5. Strong computer skills with the ability to access, create, and log production data.
6. Ability to read and write CNC macros preferred.
7. Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
8. Ability to work independently and learn advanced automation techniques.

Working Conditions:
1. Work performed in a clean, climate-controlled medical manufacturing environment.
2. Frequent standing, machine operation, inspection work, and handling of precision components required.
