Full Job Description

IN OFFICE -ST LOUIS MO - We are seeking a boots on the ground PHP Developer to join our team and accelerate the modernization of our CRM platform. The platform is being rapidly migrated to CodeIgniter 4 using a Strangler Fig approach.

The ideal candidate can quickly understand complex systems and contribute to an established modernization roadmap. You will work report to the Director of Technology.

Responsibilities

Modernizing legacy PHP applications into CodeIgniter 4
Refactoring procedural PHP into maintainable MVC architecture
Building and maintaining internal CRM functionality
Developing and integrating REST APIs
Improving database performance and application reliability
Supporting business automation and operational workflows
Troubleshooting and improving existing production systems
Collaborating with senior developers on architectural improvements and new features

Required Experience

2–4 years of professional PHP development experience
Professional experience with CodeIgniter or CodeIgniter 4
Experience working within legacy PHP applications
Experience refactoring or improving existing production systems
MySQL or MariaDB experience
REST API development or integration experience
Git version control experience
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Nice to Have

CodeIgniter 4 modernization experience
Experience converting procedural PHP into MVC architecture
JavaScript and jQuery experience
React experience preferred
Vue experience is a plus
Familiarity with Node.js and NPM-based frontend tooling
Experience with backend-heavy CRM or business systems
Familiarity with Jira or Agile workflows
Linux server familiarity

Experience safely refactoring production legacy systems is highly valued.
