Full Job Description

Overview:

Small, clean, family-owned Aerospace & Defense machine shop located in Salem, Oregon near Salem McNary Field Airport seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with some NC experience. Programming skills are not required.

We are a low volume, precision manufacturer. Tolerances are typically ±0.010” or less, going as low as ±0.0005”. Part sizes are mostly shoebox sized or smaller and covers a wide range of milling and turning operations. Materials are primarily aluminum, stainless, alloy steel, titanium and bronze.

Job type:

Full or Part time depending on candidate needs

Shift and schedule:

Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7am – 3:30pm Full-Time but also open to Part-Time

No overtime

Reports to Shop Foreman

Pay:

$26-$29 starting wage depending on experience

Job responsibilities:

· Set up and operate manual mills and lathes

· Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes

· Build workholding fixtures

· Read and follow planned manufacturing outlines and instructions

· Troubleshoot common machining problems

· Measure parts to blueprint dimensions

· Deburr parts

· Keep work areas clean and organized

· Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on machine tools

· Other duties as needed

Job qualifications:

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints including GD&T

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and occasionally higher (with assistance)

· Ability to multitask

· Ability to work safely and independently

· Experience setting up and running manual mills and lathes

· Experience setting up and running CNC 3 & 4-axis vertical mills, 2-axis lathes with live tooling

· Experience measuring part dimensions with a variety of measuring tools

· Familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 is a plus

· Must be U.S. citizen or lawful, permanent resident of the U.S.
