Position: Low Voltage Estimator / Designer
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Estimator/Designer who is passionate about designing and scoping innovative low-voltage solutions. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be part of a fast-moving, high-performance environment and who values accuracy, ownership, and professional growth.
You will work on a broad range of projects involving:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Security Systems
- Surveillance (CCTV) Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Structured Cabling
- Other integrated low-voltage technologies
What You’ll Do
- Perform detailed takeoffs from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct site surveys and project walks with customers and contractors.
- Prepare technical scopes, budgets, and complete proposal packages.
- Develop accurate bills of materials, labor estimates, subcontractor needs, and project documentation.
- Produce clear project descriptions and scopes of work for seamless operational handoff.
- Stay current on products, technologies, and industry standards through trainings and manufacturer sessions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with general contractors and electrical contractors.
- Continue developing working knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC, and related codes.
What You Bring
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in low-voltage system design: cabling infrastructure, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, audio-visual, and integrated systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to create precise, accurate estimates.
- Ability to read and interpret RFPs, floor plans, and construction documents.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational habits and time-management skills to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively.
- Professional presence and the ability to represent Innova NW well with customers and partners.
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience estimating or selling low-voltage systems.
- NICET Level II (preferred, not required).
- Working knowledge of building codes and fire alarm standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with CAD and/or Visio design software.
