Social Media Content Lead
Reports to: Promotions Coordinator
Close date: Open Until Further Notice
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
Hourly Rate: $21.00/hour
Hours per Week: 20 hours
Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday (9am-2pm Primary Schedule). Select Sundays as needed for events. Schedule may shift based on event calendar and content needs.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Social Media Content Lead develops and executes engaging social media content across Instagram and Facebook for Gilbert House Children's Museum and Playgrounds Café. This role directly supports the museum's mission by amplifying program awareness, driving community engagement, and supporting membership and fundraising efforts.
You know social because you make social. You understand the difference between content that technically fits on a platform and content that actually feels like it belongs there. You're the person who notices what's gaining traction before it lands in a meeting. You're equally comfortable behind a camera, in an editing timeline, writing captions, and analyzing what works. You balance creative instincts with audience insights and data. Most importantly, you're curious about people, culture, platforms, and what makes an audience care.
Success means GHCM and Playgrounds Café have a consistent, growing social presence that feels authentic and on-trend. Event content lands quickly—same day or next day—driving real-time engagement. You're a creative partner who drives strategy and identifies opportunities, not just someone managing a calendar. You're constantly pitching fresh ideas and testing new formats. Reporting to the Promotions Coordinator, you manage daily publishing, identify trending moments, capture compelling museum content, and stay ahead of platform best practices.
