Title: Nursery Planning Coordinator

Department: Plant Tissue Culture Lab, Nursery

Reports to: Karina Pérez Pérez

Location: 242 Corralitos Rd.

Classification: Seasonal

Hourly Pay: 29.00

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Nursery Planning Coordinator plays a strategic role in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of commercial in vitro production within a high-volume Tissue Culture laboratory. This position is responsible for managing commercial orders for raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, and blackberry programs, supporting an annual production of approximately 6.2 million plants.

Through detailed analysis of production data, inventory levels, labor efficiency, and production forecasts, the position ensures alignment between commercial demand, laboratory capacity, and delivery commitments. The Nursery Analyst I directly contributes to operational and strategic decision‑making through a data‑driven approach and effective execution of the production plan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, document, and track in vitro commercial orders for raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, and blackberry programs (foundation, direct‑to‑grower, clone testing, and applied research).

Analyze production records based on labor hours worked to determine crop‑specific efficiencies and develop performance metrics.

Design, update, and oversee the laboratory’s daily workflow with a minimum four‑week planning horizon.

Analyze actual performance versus planned production and participate in operational follow‑up meetings.

Monitor actual multiplication and rooting yield rates by variety and clone at the close of each production cycle.

Create, track, and close commercial orders within the nursery data management system (Gator Nursery Systems).

Generate and validate monthly production reports by technician.

Provide accurate and reliable information on actual production, inventory levels, and in vitro material losses.

Track and ensure adherence to commercial order delivery schedules across all production programs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred; preferably in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Biotechnology, Agribusiness, Biology, or a related discipline.

Professional experience on the job: Minimum of 2 years.

Professional experience on the functional area: Minimum of 2 years.

Areas of experience: Production planning, Production operations, Inventory management

and Order management and tracking.

Certifications and Technical skills:

· Microsoft Excel (Intermediate)

· Metrics and KPI design (Intermediate)

· Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)

· Basic statistical analysis

· Power BI and Tableau management

Foreign language: English and Spanish

Preferred (other) Qualifications:
· Experience with continuous improvement initiatives or operational optimization

· Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities

· High attention to detail in data analysis and reporting

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large volumes of information

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

· Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and follow‑through

· Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with operations and planning teams

· Experience in high‑volume, fast‑paced production environments

· Ability to translate data into actionable insights for operations

· Familiarity with agricultural operations, nurseries, or tissue culture laboratories (preferred)

· Support of approximately 6.2 million in vitro plants produced annually

· Execution of the production plan through a team of approximately 38 employees

· Increased labor efficiency by leveraging planned‑vs‑actual labor hour analysis to identify optimization opportunities

· Reduced delivery delays through accurate forecasting and proactive order tracking.

· Improved inventory control to minimize waste and rework.

· Strengthened production plan execution and increased consistency across operational workflows.
