Job Summary

Kay’s Café is seeking a dependable and motivated Baker to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing a variety of fresh baked goods while maintaining the quality and consistency our guests expect.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in producing high-quality products, stays organized, and works well as part of a team. Previous professional baking experience is preferred, but we are also willing to consider candidates with strong culinary experience and a willingness to learn.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of products according to established recipes and production standards
Measure, mix, portion, shape, and finish ingredients accurately
Produce baked goods consistently with attention to quality, appearance, taste, and portioning
Follow daily production schedules and ensure products are ready when needed
Assist with ingredient preparation, scaling, and organization
Monitor product levels and communicate production needs with management
Properly label, date, rotate, and store ingredients and finished products
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bakery workspace
Operate mixers, ovens, and other commercial bakery and kitchen equipment safely
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures
Assist other members of the bakery and café team as needed

Qualifications

Previous bakery, pastry, culinary, or food production experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Ability to stay organized and productive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry ingredients, equipment, and supplies
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Availability for early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
