Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Laser/Press Brake Machine Operator Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines and press brake equipment to produce precise metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality fabrication, efficient production processes, and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Program CNC laser cutting machines and press brake equipment using CAD/CAM software to meet detailed technical specifications.
- Operate laser and press brake machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal machine setup and tooling adjustments for each job.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately produce parts according to specifications.
- Conduct precision measurements using measuring instruments and quality inspection tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of CNC laser cutters and press brakes to maintain peak performance.
- Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling for sheet metal fabrication, ensuring proper alignment and safety compliance.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, manufacturing standards, and quality control procedures throughout all operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code.
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with a solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, stamping presses, welding, forming machines, and other fabrication techniques is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement tools for quality control purposes.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with shop math skills necessary for accurate machining setups and adjustments.
- Understanding of safety standards in production environments including proper machine operation procedures.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division for measurement calculations.
- Prior experience with tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication processes, technical drawing interpretation, hand tools usage, and assembly is highly desirable.
