Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-Assistant)

Optimum Speech Language Services is a pediatric speech-language therapy practice serving children ages 1–18 in their homes, daycares, schools, and other natural settings. Most of our clients are under age 10. We focus on practical, individualized therapy and partnering with families to support communication skills beyond the therapy session.
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and engaging NC registration ready Speech-Language Pathology Assistant who enjoys working with children and is comfortable providing therapy in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities
- Travel to client locations throughout Harrisburg, Concord, and Kannapolis.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy in homes, daycares, schools, and other natural settings; virtual sessions may be provided as appropriate and available.
- Implement treatment plans and goals developed by the supervising licensed SLP.
- Conduct speech-language screenings as applicable.
- Provide home programs and support carryover of therapy strategies into daily routines.
- Communicate with parents following sessions, particularly when parents are not present.
- Complete accurate and timely daily notes, progress documentation, and other required records.
- Communicate with the supervising SLP regarding client progress, concerns, and recommended changes to treatment.
- Follow all applicable professional, ethical, state, and organizational requirements.
Qualifications
- Current NC registration/license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or eligibility to obtain NC registration.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Speech, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field, with requirements completed for SLP-A registration (completed 100 hours).
- At least 2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow through with assigned responsibilities.
- Engaging, patient, and comfortable working with children.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a family-centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervising SLPs, families, and other professionals.
- Some after-school availability (after 3 PM) is needed
- Clean NC/national background check.
- Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance.

Pay: $50.00 - $58.00 per hour
