Full Job Description

Accounting Assistant Manager

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent business in the Lee County MS area is seeking Accounting Assistant Manager to join their team! This customer is offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!

Accounting Assistant Manager Job Summary:

Pay: Salaried

Shifts Available:

o 1st Shift: M-F 8am-5pm, possible one Saturday per quarter for audits

Manage all general accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and month-end close processes.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements and management reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Oversee manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard costing, cost analysis, variance reporting, and inventory reconciliations.
Partner with plant operations and production leadership to analyze manufacturing costs and identify improvement opportunities.
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members, establishing performance expectations and supporting professional growth.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements.
Coordinate annual audits and assist with tax-related reporting requirements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiencies and reporting accuracy.
Assist with ERP system optimization and other accounting-related projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.-required
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, within a manufacturing environment.-required
Previous supervisory or management experience leading accounting or finance personnel, required
Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
Knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing financial processes.
