TxDOT's San Angelo District is looking for a part time Maintenance Support Tech II in our Traffic Operations office. This administrative position works closely with the Director of Transportation Operations to keep the office running day to day. Duties include assisting with phone calls, scheduling, procurement, data entry, inventory, timesheets, records management and many other important functions. The ideal candidate is a good communicator and responds quickly and professionally via phone or email to members of the public, coworkers, and local government stakeholders. Position Description
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:

Assists with data entry for construction record-keeping.

Composes and prepares correspondence and applicable recurring or special one-time reports and/or confidential and sensitive communications.

Coordinates and tracks the progress of projects and/or specialized programs and informs supervisor or other Department officials of status.

Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.

Assists in preparing monthly and final maintenance contract estimates.

Edits correspondence, reports, forms, and documents for proper format, spelling, grammar, punctuation, typographical errors, syntax, style, sentence structure, content, and clarity.

Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance, budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and/or permitting activities.

Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.

Maintains calendars for department personnel to include scheduling meetings, coordinating and making appointments, and travel arrangements.

Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
1 year of experience in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
