Full Job Description

NDT Level II UT(Shear Wave)/MT Technician / QA Inspector

ZT Consulting Group, Inc. (ZTC) is currently seeking full-time NDT Level II UT (Shear wave)/MT Technician to join our team. Applications will be accepted on Indeed.

About ZT Consulting Group, Inc.
ZTC is an engineering consultant company that specializes in providing Quality Assurance & Source Inspection services. Our professional service supports Local Agencies on their highway and bridge construction projects. We have offices located in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. Responsibilities
ZTC is considering applicants for an NDT Level II (UT (Shear wave)/MT) Steel Technician position responsible for performing Quality Assurance and Source Inspection duties and functions for infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, buildings, rail-stations, airports, etc. NDT UT/MT Technician works closely on NDT inspection of welded structural components and will report to task lead or project manager. Job requires travel (within State, out of State, or out of Country) to fabrication site or perform NDT at project site. Travel cost is covered by ZTC.

Minimum qualifications:

NDT ASNT Level II UT(Shear Wave)/MT (The applicant will be recertified with ZTC Level III upon hiring)
High School diploma or GED

Job Duties:

Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on welded structures such as steel girders, moment frames, light poles, overhead sign structures, and more.
Travel to various job sites throughout the year, providing exciting opportunities to explore different locations.
Perform inspections both indoors at a fabrication shop and outdoors, allowing you to gain experience in various work environments.
Benefit from the flexibility of having 2 to 4 days at home every 3 weeks to relax and recharge.
Be compensated hourly for travel time, ensuring that your time and dedication are valued.
Be encouraged to pursue and obtain the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification within 4-6 months of joining the team. The company will cover the costs of training and examination.
Maintain a stable 40-hour workweek throughout the year, with limited overtime opportunities available.
Conduct sampling and inspection of structural materials at different locations.
Prepare comprehensive reports and review relevant documents as needed.

Skills & Abilities:

Working knowledge of Word Processing and Spread Sheet
Ability to do daily or weekly travel to project sites or fabrication sites
Willingness to obtain new certifications such as ACI/PCI/NACE/etc. ZTC will provide training.
Proficient writing & communication skills

Not required but preferred:

CWI Steel Inspection Certification
Knowledge of Word, Excel, & Outlook
Working knowledge of bridge welding code AWS D1.5
Knowledge of RT film interpretation
NACE Level 2 certification
NDT Level II PT/LT

Physical Demands & Work Conditions:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Vision acuity, etc.
Employee is regularly required to talk or hear
Employee is frequently required to stand; sit, walk, reach and use arm and hands to perform steel inspection
Lifting, moving & carrying objects in excess of 50 pounds
Climbing & working off ladders, stairs, scaffolding, boom trucks, manlift, etc.
Working in indoor & outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat & cold and in & near industrial hazards
