Full Job Description

Experience Preferred:

Hard copy document preparation, scanning and electronic records management experience or related work is preferred and will be given preferential consideration.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision employee is expected to assist in the support of the office through receipt, preparation, and imaging of correspondence, plan documents, etc. The position requires some independent judgment in organizing assignments and work must meet minimum standards.

Essential Functions

Must have good organizational skills
Demonstrates the ability to learn and adapt to new office procedures and technologies
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
Productivity must meet minimum expectations
Ability to sit and/or stand several hours at a time, occasional bending, and stooping
Completes forms and related logs as required
Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
Performs other work as assigned

Position Requirements

Willingness and ability to learn new technical skills
Good organizational skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Willingness to follow prescribed routine
Proficiency in the use of personal computers including typing
Must show careful attention to detail
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and work as a member of a team

This is a full-time position 100% onsite in Oakland, CA
This job requires a background check

Wages and Benefits

In addition to the base wage which will range between $29.57 and $34.79 per hour during the first 12 months of employment, this position includes an excellent benefit package with an employer paid retirement plan.

Carpenters Health and Welfare Trust Fund for California – health and welfare coverage for the employee and eligible dependents, currently the premium for the coverage is 100% covered by employer contributions – the current contribution rate is $14.37 per hour or $25,003.80 per year

Medical – Kaiser or Anthem Blue Cross
Dental – Delta Dental
Vision – Kaiser or Vision Service Plan (VSP)
Prescription – Kaiser or Express Scripts
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Anthem Blue Cross
Eligibility is based on an hour bank and would typically begin 4 months after your employment begins

Office and Professional Employees Pension Trust Fund – a defined benefit plan with a 5-year vesting period which will provide monthly payments to you for life during your retirement, current hourly contribution is $6.35 per hour

Western States 401(k) Retirement Fund of the OPEIU – which you are able to participate in and make pre-tax contributions to as soon as your employment begins

Paid Vacation:

·upon hire the employee will begin to accrue 2 weeks’ vacation per year
after 5 years of continuous service, the employee will begin to accrue 3 weeks’ vacation per year
after 10 years of continuous service, the employee will begin to accrue 4 weeks’ vacation per year
after 18 years of continuous service, the employee will begin to accrue 5 weeks’ vacation per year

Our office is located at 265 Hegenberger Road, Suite 100, Oakland, CA 94621-1480. We have plenty of free parking, are located close to public transportation and we also have electric vehicle charging available on site.
