About the Position
Altex Technologies Corporation is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Small Business, in operation since 1985. Altex develops high performance heat exchangers, and thermal management systems, for use in Defense, and Commercial Energy, and Power Markets. Altex is current seeking an entry level, mechanically-oriented, Mechanical Assembly Technician (Level I), for an Open, Full-Time, On-Site Position. Previous experience involving Work under Defense Contracts, ISO/Aerospace Quality requirements, and Production Work Instructions, and working with large, heavy parts are preferred skillsets for this position. The Candidate will be working with a small team, in a low production rate environment, under the Altex Lead Mechanical Assembler, with responsibility for visual, or dimensional inspection of incoming parts, use of the parts in assembly of the Altex product, inspection, test, packaging and shipping of the product, and all Altex documentation, and any Customer Reporting related to these Activities. The Applicant should be focused on quality, efficiency, attention to detail, and professionalism, possess the reading comprehension skills necessary to understand production drawings and complex work procedures, and possess good communication skills, which can be utilized both inside Altex, and with the Altex supply chain, or customers, when required. The position requires a Candidate with a high school diploma, or equivalent. A Candidate possessing two, or more years of continuous experience, in either an ISO 9001, or AS 9100 manufacturing environment, and / or equivalent military environment, with emphasis on automotive, sea or aeronautical applications, will be favored for this position.

- Performing Parts Inspection, Product Assembly, Product Inspection, and Product Validation/Test, Packaging, Shipment, and Documentation Activities, to defined Work Instructions, and Quality Procedures
- Utilizing common mechanical production shop tools, to perform assembly activities
- Utilizing common measurement tools and gages, such as Calipers, Hanging Scales, Radius, Thread and Countersink Gages, Etc., to perform quality inspections
- Utilizing pressure test equipment, for validation testing
- Operate dependably, under minimal supervision
- Quickly identifying and escalating any non-conformance, quality, or safety issues to the Production Manager
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Additionally, the Candidate may receive training in the below activities:
- Performance of Advanced Validation Inspections, utilizing CMM Equipment
- Forklift Operation
Requirements
- Must be a US Person (lawful permanent resident, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or a protected individual, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Good communication, written, and verbal skills
- Good reading comprehension
- Good organizational skills, and attention to details
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform physical work, frequently standing and walking, during work hours
- Ability to frequently, and repetitively squat, kneel, bend, reach, lift, push, and carry unbalanced loads, of up to 45 lbs
- Ability to utilize ladders or other high structures
- Able to use common production, and validation tools
- Skilled in working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to read Manufacturing Drawings
- Skilled in documenting activities, maintaining records, and using common PC programs
- Clean Driving Record
- At least 1 year of experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing / maintenance / inspection environment, and / or equivalent military environment, with emphasis on automotive, sea, or aeronautical applications
