Position Overview
The Tile Setter is responsible for installing a variety of tile and stone materials while maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship and professionalism. This individual will work on high-end residential and commercial projects, ensuring all installations meet IHTS quality standards and industry best practices.
This position is ideal for someone with tile installation experience who is looking to continue developing their skills while working alongside experienced craftsmen.
Reports To: Lead Tile Setter / Field Operations Manager
The Tile Setter will report directly to the Lead Tile Setter and Field Operations Manager, working closely with field crews to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
* Install porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, glass, and mosaic tile.
* Read and interpret construction plans, layouts, and installation details.
* Perform accurate layouts to achieve balanced and visually appealing installations.
* Install floor tile, wall tile, shower systems, backsplashes, fireplaces, exterior tile, and other specialty applications.
* Prepare substrates in accordance with industry standards.
* Mix and apply thinset, mortar, grout, and setting materials.
* Install waterproofing systems, uncoupling membranes, and underlayments.
* Assist with mud-floating walls and floors when required.
* Load, unload, and transport tools and materials.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
* Work professionally with homeowners, general contractors, designers, and other trades.
* Ensure projects meet IHTS quality standards.
* Complete punch-list items and final touch-ups.
* Follow all company safety procedures and maintain company equipment.
Qualifications
* Previous tile setting experience is required.
* 3+ years of tile installation experience preferred.
* Experience installing porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and mosaics.
* Experience with waterproofing systems and substrate preparation.
* Experience mud-floating walls and floors is highly preferred.
* If mud work experience is limited, training will be provided to the right candidate.
* Ability to read blueprints and installation layouts.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
* Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Valid California driver’s license.
* Personal work vehicle required (company vehicle may become available based on performance and company needs).
* Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work on active construction sites.
* Spanish speaking is preferred.

* Competitive pay: $27.00–$30.00+ per hour, depending on experience.
