We are providing supplemental engineering services, including project management and construction management, and commissioning oversight to support a large wastewater infrastructure capital improvement program in San Francisco, California. We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to support construction management teams for successful delivery of various, including complex, tunneling and wastewater conveyance construction projects.
As an Assistant Resident Engineer , you will work with Lead Resident Engineers on various (wastewater/civil/mechanical) construction projects, working closely with construction project teams comprised of Project Engineers, Estimators, Inspectors, Schedulers, etc.; and engage in a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with all departments; including stakeholders. You will support project teams on a variety of tasks including technical decisions, schedule reviews, change management, and project meetings with contractor and stakeholders; to effectively deliver results in a timely manner.
In addition, you will participate in the contract change process including receiving and responding to requests for information; develop and issue requests for proposals; receive and respond to requests for change; prepare engineer’s estimates and records of negotiations; prepare and issue field change orders; review construction submittals for compliance with the technical specifications and contract documents. Leadership, communication and organizational skills with experience in engineering construction management is preferred.
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
10 years of experience providing resident or assistant resident engineering services for urban, underground tunneling and public works/utility construction projects.
Experience providing resident or assistant resident engineering services within the last 15 years: (a) for at least one urban underground tunneling construction project valued at $75 million or more
with mixed soil conditions and with a minimum of 10-feet ID tunnel
Must have valid drivers license with good driving history

The base salary range for this position is $133,800.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
